Do you want to have one of the most popular sites on the web? Well who doesn’t? There’s a site out there called alexa.com. It’s actually owned by Amazon and it’s different from the Alexa that you’re familiar with.

You can’t tell this Alexa, “Alexa please order me a pizza.” That’s a little automated robot cylinder type of robot, you know the artificial intelligence kind. A bit like Siri, Google or Bixby.

This alexa.com focuses on monitoring and ranking the web for popularity. Today, I’m going to share a few tips on how to increase your Alexa rank.

The first thing you need to know about Alexa.com it’s a rating site. From a few million to one. The number one, being the most popular website on the internet. So that’s probably going to be Google or Facebook.

You can see by going to alexa.com. They rank the most popular sites all over the web and they even have a list of the top 100 web sites when you’re looking at this rating number.

You want to climb towards the top. What that means is you want your Alexa number to continually drop. So how do you do this?

Well you get more traffic the more people that visit your website the better off your Alexa ranking is going to be. So there’s a few quick wins that you can do to increase your Alexa rank.

1. Alexa ToolBar

The first thing you can do is install the Alexa toolbar so the more of your visitors or readers coming to your site with Alexa toolbar the better off your rank is going to be. This is because this way Alexa can collect data from all these people.

2. Promote on Social Media

The second thing you can do is just promote your content on the social media. So every time you have a new blog post or you updated some of your content share it on Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin. If you have images put them all over Instagram. You can also put them on Pinterest too.

3. Link out to People

The third thing you can do is link out to other people. Email them a few lines.

“Hi David, I admire your blog so much that I linked it out to my latest blog post. Feel free to share it on your favourite social network. Many thanks, Faisal”

By doing that you’re going to get more social shares and more traffic which means a lower Alexa number.

4. Use a Domain Authority Tool

The fourth thing you can do is use a Domain Authority Tool like Link Explorer or Ahrefs. Once you have logged in to the tool, type in your competitor URL and see who links to them. Email each of a question or two and do a round up post. It’s that simple.

Now, if you follow these steps don’t expect your number to drop closer to one or a thousand. It’s really hard to get those to those numbers. But you can get to a hundred thousand or maybe fifty thousand or even twenty or thirty thousand.

So in conclusion, if you add an alexa toolbar, promote your content on social media, link out to people and do round up posts, your alexa rank will improve over a period of thirty to sixty days after you implement these steps.
